Looking For Japanese WWII War Brides And Families
I am the daughter of a Japanese war bride who came to Australia in 1952 from Kure, Hiroshima-ken in Japan. My mother is still alive and we speak often about her life, both in pre-WWII Japan and after she came to Australia. I am planning to write her stories down for the benefit of my children, grandchildren and succeeding generations. And I will happily share some of them on this forum or with other similar family researchers who have a Japanese war bride in their family.
I guess this is pretty common, but I don't have many photos of pre-war Kure, especially not of my Mum as a child because of the destruction of most of her photos in the Allied bombing raids. I would love to see any photos anyone might have of Kure or hear any information about the town during those pre-war years? Look forward to hearing from you. Annette Carter Posted by

Hi Annette,
Was wandering if you could help me. Am trying to contact the family of a war bride who were friends of our family. She was from Kure but not sure of her maiden name. Done some research but having difficulties. Thanks! Posted by

Hi Annette,
I was wondering if you had any replies to your post. I was born in Japan in 1950 of Japanese mother and Australian father. I came to Australia in 1956. It's interesting that considering the way these simple facts have coloured my life that I have not made any attempt to make contact with other children of Japanese "warbrides" before now. However, I am wondering if there would be some interest in sharing some of our stories in this or another forum. cheers Mari Posted by
