I'm quite excited to have received an email from a researcher who is looking into the Chinese Australian soldiers who married British women after World War I. So excited I decided to look into the textbooks I have on hand...and the military histories. Did C.E.W. Bean mention Chinese-Australians? 'fraid I couldn't find any. What about Les Carlyon ('The Great War', '
Gallipoli'), Patsy Adam-Smith, Martin Gilbert, Melanie Oppenheimer - well if they did it is not in the indexes.... so I am really looking forward to find out more when I meet this researcher at the 'Shake Your Family Tree' Conference next week (February 25, 09) in Canberra. Do you know anything? If so please post here or on the forum |
